Robert Joseph “Joe” Peake, Jr. 69, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Florida Hospital in Wesley Chapel from a heart attack.



Joe was preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Angie, his brother Gary and niece, Barbara Sandretzky. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lois and sister Sharon Sandretzky (James), son Greg (Jill), daughter Lisa Morgan (Mark) and six grandchildren Dade, Hayden and Camryn Peake, Stone, Ian and Jessica Morgan, numerous nieces and nephews and the rest of his family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Angie, his brother Gary and niece, Barbara Sandretzky. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lois and sister Sharon Sandretzky (James), son Greg (Jill), daughter Lisa Morgan (Mark) and six grandchildren Dade, Hayden and Camryn Peake, Stone, Ian and Jessica Morgan, numerous nieces and nephews and the rest of his family and friends.



Joe was born in Dade City, Florida on December 14, 1947 but spent his entire adult life in Tampa until moving to Land O Lakes in 2003. He attended King High School and worked for Florida Steel until being drafted by the Army in 1968. He served in Vietnam until being wounded in 1969. He is a decorated war veteran having received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Star medals. Upon his discharge from the Army, he returned to his job with Tampa Tank, Inc./Florida Structural Steel where he remained until he retired in 2012. Joe loved his family and he loved the game of golf.



Flowers are welcomed by the family or donations may be made in his honor to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 3-5PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave in Tampa. A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017, 11AM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue in Bushnell.
